SCandinavian Cruises - 2026
Friday 29 May'26 - Southampton (Next Cruise) [the 30th is further down this page]
After 3,590 nautical miles, we docked in Southampton just after 0600, with the gangway opening at 0705. Only about 100 people are continuing on the next cruise so the ship should be a relative ghost town until the masses start to fill it up just before lunch. It was decided to go for a walk around Southampton, so away we went. About 15 minutes from the port was a massive shopping centre, Westquay, which was on the edge of the old town and right next door to the main street.
Given the unexpected hot weather currently being experienced in this part of the world and expected to last for the rest of our final cruise, the acquisition of a few summery clothes were on the agenda and achieved. Lunch at one of the many cafes aligning the streets then a nice slow walk back to the ship. With it being school holidays over here, the ratio of English to American's (and many with kids) passenger numbers has increased rather dramatically.
A lazy afternoon before dinner in the Cosmopolitan, then onto The Club for the various trivia challenges, where we met some lovely Canadian's (ex Poms) and finally, sleep...
Saturday 30 May'26 - Sea Day
As it was a Sea Day today, late and relaxed breakfast. Then just sitting aound in the coffer shop on the Grand Plaza (Deck4) until lunch in the Ocenview Cafe. Then a little relaxation time back in the room, where I caught up with some NRL mini's on Kayo before a snooze. Dinner in the Tuscan restaurant tonight then , watched a couple of episodes of the new season of Welcome to Wrexham before bed. The 1st photo is where we were at 1600 this afternoon which was in the deepest part of the water to date, @ 4680m. I mention this because across the other 2 cruises, the deepest has been 70m. The 2nd, is our position as I finish this post and head to bed.
